Gomes’ team win and continue to fight for a slot in the Champions League
4/May/2010 –
Tottenham won another victory in the round before the last. This Saturday, 1st May, goalkeeper Gomes’ team beat Boston 1 nil thanks to Thomas Huddlestone’s goal. Tottenham’s victory has now added up to 67 points and they have kept the position which will assure them a slot in the Champions League.
‘It was a hard match. The opposing team’s players are tall so they made things a little more difficult for us. On the other hand our team are focused and we managed to score’, said goalkeeper Gomes.
Manchester City, Spurs’ direct rival, also won in today’s round and they have 66 points and they are in 5th place and seeking a slot in Champions League.
‘All we think is make points no matter we win or tie. We don’t depend on anybody else but on ourselves indeed and our team know what to do’, concluded Gomes. He will face Manchester City in the middle of the week in a rescheduled match, so both teams have two matches ahead of them to fight for the slot.
Tottenham are taking a day off this Sunday.
