9/Apr/2010 –
Tottenham are getting on the pitch Sunday, 11th April at 12 pm, BrasÃlia time, in the English Championship semi-final against Portsmouth. Goalkeeper Gomes’s team are ready for this match.
‘We know this will be hard match. Portsmouth is the last-place team in the English Championship. They have lost some points for financial problems, however, they’ve been playing well along the championship. That’s why they’ve got to the semi-final. They’ll go for the broke in this match so this will be a much disputed one. We played against them and won 2 nil. We want to win the title and we’re ready and certain of the victory’, said Gomes, who is training tomorrow, 10th April, with the line-up. After that, he is retreating with them.
The Spurs will get back on the pitch on Wednesday, 14th April, in the English Championship to play against Arsenal. Gomes’ team are in 5th place in the standings with 58 points whereas Arsenal is in 3rd place with 71 points.
‘We lost some important points in the last round and we got out of the Champions League qualifying zone. We’ll recover these points and we’ll be among the top four’, concluded Gomes, who saved 2 penalty kicks and was considered the best player on the pitch. However, he wasn’t able to avoid losing to Sunderland 3-1 away from home.
