Goalkeeper Gomes celebrates good phase in England
31/Mar/2010 –
Goalkeeper Gomes is enjoying a great phase with Tottenham in England. The team are in fourth place in the FA Cup with 58 points from 17 victories, 7 ties and 7 defeats.
‘We’ve been having a great performance. We’ve struggled to win the last five matches in the English Championship. We’ve lost some important points at home during the championship. If we’d won these points, we’d surely be fighting for the title now, which is not impossible for our team. Now we’re aiming at winning and maintaining our position. Since it’s a hard-fought championship, it’s been difficult to keep up our performance. We’ve been managing it even with seven injured players. That means that our team are united and we are all focused on the same target’, said Gomes, who is off this Wednesday, 31st March. He is getting get back to practice tomorrow, 1st April, to play against Sunderland away from home in the 33rd round of the English Championship. Another piece of good news is that Spurs are in the FA Cup semi-finals.
‘We will seek the Cup Title. This is an important competition in which the winner will ensure a slot in the European League’, concluded Gomes.
Tottenham are travelling to the game venue on Friday, 2nd April.
